Portmanteau/Valise

Most of the stories in this book deal with human feelings and responses to unwelcome changes and the anxieties of disruption. There are darkly comic fairy tales, dystopian visions and imagined memoirs, which I happily admit are fairly undemanding. This, I think, makes them ideal holiday reading. It’s nice to go travelling; but it’s even nicer with a paperback book that isn’t too heavy and fits neatly inside your portmanteau or valise.
